Introduction on Heat and Mass Transfer: Indian Institute of Technology

The Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay, IIT, is considered to be the “MIT” of India.  Thousands of students apply but very few are accepted.  IIT has made available, for no charge to the viewers, an entire introductory course on Heat and Mass Transfer.  This is a terrific course for

  • Mechanical Engineers who may suddenly find themselves having to handle the thermal management responsibilities in design work
  • Those who want a refresher on the basics
  • High School students interested in advanced engineering course work

We’ve embedded the first class here for our readers, but the entire course, 35 lectures in all, is available on YouTube:  Watch the Lecture Series on Heat and Mass Transfer by Prof. S.P.Sukhatme and Prof. U.N.Gaitonde, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Bombay.

And for more advanced education, don’t forget the coolingZONE-12 Conference in Cambridge, MA, August 27-30, 2010
