Heat Pipe Technologys New Demo and Innovation Center Displays Innovative Passive-Heat-Transfer Devices

gainesville, fla., mar 22, 2012 (business wire) -- heat pipe technology, inc., (hpt) a division of mitek, a berkshire hathaway company , today announced that the company had just opened a new demo and innovation center, an extension of the company’s gainesville, florida manufacturing facility. designed for advanced on-site research, as well as for visiting engineers and customers, the demo and innovation center has working heat pipe systems on display, where visitors and staff can use proprietary heat pipe technology modeling software to verify performance and determine how much money can be saved through heat pipe technology’s passive energy heat-pipe conversation technology. the demo and innovation center recently hosted heat pipe technology’s “rep event,” where 65 attendees from 31 rep firms across north america witnessed new-product introductions and attended heat pipe technology’s advanced training sessions.

as part of heat pipe technology’s 30,000 sq. ft. gainesville, florida manufacturing facility, the demo and innovation center is just one project completed with a recent infusion of investment capital. the investment, along with changes made to heat pipe technology’s manufacturing processes, has reduced product delivery lead times by more than one third. those process improvements coincide with implementation of lean manufacturing practices and new quality-control standards that have tightened heat pipe technology’s tolerances for purchasing specifications and manufacturing practices.

“heat pipe technology is a widely recognized global leader in implementing energy conservation technologies, and our ‘wrap-around’ moisture-removal dehumidification systems can increase hvac systems dehumidification capability by up to 50%,” said hpt’s senior vice president of sales and marketing, mazen awad. “with our new demo center, we now have the opportunity to model and demonstrate our solutions for customers, researchers, design engineers and journalists. it’s a major addition to our overall capability.”
