Curved Finite Elements in TD Direct and Thermal Desktop Mark New CFD Release

version 5.7 is now available! this new release brings new features and enhancements to sinda/fluint, thermal desktop, radcad, flocad, td direct, and ezxy.

curved finite elements in td direct and thermal desktop mark a major advancement in our modeling capabilities. the resulting curved mesh allows the analyst to accurately capture radiation, capacitance, and conduction while reducing model size to achieve fast system-level simulations. in conjunction with the new mesh quality control feature, this provides the ability to create thermal-centric meshes, i.e. a mesh with a user-controlled resolution appropriate for thermal modeling.

we have incorporated many new features in the area of thermal desktop post-processing such as multiple post processing view ports, expanded color bar control, new screen-based text post-postprocessing, and the graphical display of temperature differences between two solutions.

version 5.7 also introduces new modeling capabilities such as thermal desktop's user-definable composite materials in the form of laminates or aggregates, and two new flocad components: a system level heat exchanger, and a capillary evaporator pump.

for a complete list of updates, please see the release notes in the user manuals for sinda/fluint, thermal desktop, and td direct.
