CoolIT Partners with Staubli and AFCO to Develop Standardized Rack Cooling Solutions

coolit systems inc., a top supplier of direct contact liquid cooling (dclc™) solutions for high-performance desktops, enterprise servers and data centers is pleased to announce that stäubli and afco systems have become a part of an effort to build liquid cooling industry standards. evidence of these partnerships will be on display at isc13 in both coolit’s booth (301) as well as stäubli’s booth (281).

“partnerships are the key to building industry standards,” said geoff lyon, ceo and cto of coolit systems. “collaborating with first class manufacturers such as stäubli and afco to develop dclc™ projects has been a great experience and the resulting products are impressing customers and system integrators alike.” mr. lyon went on to say, “the physics of air cooling vs. liquid cooling is finally being understood by the industry. combining our efforts with those of stäubli and afco will help to increase the adoption curve for the data center community.”

“our goal from the outset has been to take the efficiency advantages associated with managing component temperatures with liquid and to produce a system that not only works exceptionally well at regulating temperatures, but that can be trusted,” said rusty robertson, application specialist at stäubli. “trust is a huge factor when putting liquids in close proximity to critical electronics. we are demonstrating that coolit’s technology outfitted with stäubli’s non-spill connectors works superbly. sceptics are becoming converts.”

michael mallia, ceo of afco systems says, “today’s higher density servers are ready for coolit’s proven cooling technology. afco is excited to work with coolit in showing clients how easily they can package higher density platforms while effectively managing cable, power and cooling at the rack level.”
