Orion Fans develops AC and DC fans That Resist Salt Fog& Salt Spray Corrosion

dallas, tx (march 19, 2013) – orion fans, a leading manufacturer of standard and custom ac and dc fans, fan trays and accessories, has designed a series of acand dcfans tested to tough environmental conditions, including salt fog, salt spray, temperature changes and humidity. the oa109 series ac fans, oa172 series ac fans and od1238 series dc fans meet the international standards on salt spray tests, gr487, astm-b-117 and iso 9227; and are also rated to ip55. the fans meet or exceed accelerated salt spray and salt fog testing that can last from eight hours up to 3000 hours, a significant achievement that ensures corrosion resistance.salt fog and salt spray testing is typically performed on products used for marine, automotive, military and other outdoor uses. salt fog and salt spray testing is one of the most reliable ways to test the permeability of coatings and seals likely to be encountered in these harsh environments.

“the oa109 and o172 series ac fans, as well as the od1238 dc series, are constructed to endure even the most extreme conditions, undergoing strict temperature and rigorous salt fog testing scenarios in order to earn these higher ingress ratings,” said david luna, product marketing manager for orion fans. “particularly in marine systems, components need to be continuously cooled to maximize performance and operational lifespans. our corrosion resistant, environmentally friendly ac and dc fans are designed to deliver a rugged, reliable cooling solution.

”the o172 series ac fansfeature diecast aluminum frames and a dual ball bearing systemthat withstands exposure to intense conditions, such as those encountered in marine external circulation and telecommunication systems.

the oa109 series and oa172 series ac fans are available in both 115vac and 230vac, power ratings ranging from 8w to 35w, and airflows ranging from 110cfm to 235cfm. the oa109 ac fan’s design provides an l10 life expectancy of 60,000 hours due to its top-quality ball bearings.

the od1238 dc series fans are available in 12v, 24v, 48v and 60v versions with airflows of 73cfm or 154cfm and an operational l10 life span of 65,000 hours. other custom dc voltages are available upon request.

custom sizes, as well as dc fans and blowers with special functions such as tachometer output, locked rotor alarm, pulse width modulation (pwm) input, and thermal and constant speed controls are also available upon request.

pricing for the oa series ac fans in oem quantities start at $20.60 with lead times of stock to six weeks. pricing for the od1238 dc series starts at $18.00 with lead times of stock to six weeks.
